never looking back ! our aldi shop has been truly transformed, nothing to hold me back from the special buys now 😅 also apparently quite the conversation stater in d bay, literally can't go anywhere without someone asking about the ins and outs of a cargo bike #cycling #cycle #biking #ebike #cargobike #tern #terngsd #bike #queer #fife #scotland
finding ways to still feel excited about food has been really important to us these last few months(/whole ass year lol) - going out to new (or old favourite) food places was like a major past time of ours, and whilst its not a huge sacrifice (or tbh the worst thing about lockdown...) its meant we've been a bit stuck in ruts and trying to find diff ways to enjoy cooking/eating ... so! we've been thinking outside our usual - cue these betel leaves loaded with tofu, green papaya, toasted coconut, peanuts, and jaggery with a nam jim sauce. its *not* the most sustainable, so we are thinking about possible alternatives to the betel leaves, they taste sort of aniseedy? lip tingling sort of like sichuan pepper? anyway it was lush and my face is numb and I'm not meant to be eating spicy food because of my stomach but I have no regrets (yet) #vegan #vegansofig #whatveganseat #vegansofinstagram #veganfood #veganfoodshare #food
Happy Friday 🌞🚲 on the subject of podcasts, we just spent a slow morning eating pancakes and listening to this episode of @alemana_by_night with @hamburg_neesh . Nisha is a legit fat non-binary cycling badass ! This episode is sooo good, they talk about anxiety and cycling (topics close to our neurodivergent hearts) in a thoughtful, intersectional and highly relatable way (glad the experience of getting back on a bike as an adult and having to learn how to turn right is a shared one!!) They touch on all sorts of things in this conversation including the importance of peer led spaces of support, especially for queer and/or bipoc communities, accessibility, shared learning, finding your place in cycling, the power of a good nap... but what really stood out for me was the discussion and reflections on the physicality of anxiety and the physicality of cycling - how riding a bike can be a way to get to know, to connect, to your body, to feel masterful and embodied. How riding a bike can be a way to understand your body, to learn to differentiate between physical sensations, between tiredness and pain, and how this can connect positively to experiences of anxiety. 10/10 wld recommend (pancakes were banging too...) #cycling #biking #bikes #bikepacking #cyclist #anxiety #mentalhealth #queer #nonbinary #QueerCyclist #qtbipoc #vegan #whatveganseat #AmListening #podcast #intersectionality #selfcare #community
I realised when I got in touch with phoebe about being involved in this podcast that I haven't really spoken about having an eating disorder in forever, and that feels weird, but like good, because for years it was such a big thing in my life...anyway it was a pleasure chatting with phoebe and lauren about veganism and eating disorder recovery, and to be able to share the ways that veganism has been a really positive choice for me! yous can head over to their page to have a listen (i am anxiously listening back to it now ofc...)
2 years ago today in Limekilns, which is a little further down the coast from where we live now, abi uttered the immortal words 'i think my pedals are wobbling from side to side...?' and thats how on the 2nd day of our last tour we ended up stranded in Falkirk with two loaded touring bikes and a seized bottom bracket. today we r just excited to stay local, rather than at home, and excited by the spring weather (double denim ftw) and excited by the bank holiday which as freelancers really doesn't mean much But Dammit we are going to celebrate it anyway #excited #queer #fife #fifecoast #scotland #throwback #trans #nonbinary #spring #sun #outside #ItsAGoodFriday #friyay
its trans day of visibility so we got a new light??? thanks @billthomuk we love it, will be doing all our zoom calls basking in a neon purple glow #GearsForQueers #trans #InteriorDesignMasters #TransLight #TransLite
